Wings serve as aerodynamic surfaces providing lift to a flying object. To be effective wings typi-cally span a substantial distance from the body of projectile thus bestowing a large footprint. The footprint dictates large packaging, storage and main-tenance volumes. Foldable wings were introduced, and can be seen, for example on aircraft parked on aircraft carrier decks. The need for parking room is met by reducing the wing span of parked aircraft on board aircraft carriers. But when a substantial por-tion of the wing folded to an up-right position, the space freed on the sides of the aircraft is replaced with occupied space over the aircraft, a space which on the upper deck of an aircraft carrier is abundant.

Settore aerospaziale Ringrazio molto sia Gianluca per la spiegazione che Giuliana per il suo intervento. Frattanto mi sono permesso di selezionare il settore aerospaziale, che, almeno a mio avviso, rappresenta forse la soluzione più appropriata. Naturalmente, chiunque è libero di modificare di nuovo il settore, anche in modo differenziato per ogni domanda, se lo ritenesse opportuno.

Concordo con Gaetano. Sarebbe meglio specificare in quando la parola in se ha molti significati a seconda degli ambiti. Io per esempio dalla mail ricevuta (senza contesto) avrei detto "piastra portante" perchè mi è arrivata come "meccanica", poi leggendo ho trovato tutt'altra cosa. Un saluto a tutti :)

Argomento del testo Il testo non riguarda armi, ma il paragrafo sulla portaerei e su armi costituisce un esempio di applicazione.

Argomento preciso del testo Ciao Gianluca. Non vorrei aver frainteso, ma mi sembra di capire che il testo da cui hai tratto le tre ultime domande riguardi degli aerei militari. Mi domando allora se in questi casi non vada specificato il settore delle armi anziché quello della meccanica o persino quello legale, che immagino sia conseguenza di una svista. Visto che però, spesso le classificazioni sono controverse, "ai colleghi l'ardua sentenza"...
