I am a translator and a makeup artist from
Turku, Finland. I am interested in translation, localisation,
transcription and new developments in language technology. In addition
to German and translation studies at the University of Turku, I have
studied language technology, English and phonology. I have also done an
exchange year in Potsdam, Germany in 2018-2019.

I
am bilingual, speaking both Finnish and English as first language. In
addition to this, I speak fluent German and can communicate well in
Swedish. Since moving to Turku in 2015 I have been doing translation and
working as a freelance translator since 2017, especially texts from the
medical field. Alongside my university studies, I am a qualified
cosmetologist and have been working as a freelance makeup artist in
theatre and beauty since 2012. In both of these jobs I’ve gotten a lot
of experience from organizing, working under pressure and ensuring
customer satisfaction simultaneously.

During
my education in both vocational school and at university, I have
learned to work with multiple groups of people and communicate
efficiently and in a polite manner. I’ve also had experience leading and
organizing a group in theatre productions and different student
projects, especially translation projects, I’ve done during and outside
of my studies.
