I have just installed Wordfast Classic 5.5 on my computer as a user of Windows Vista. I have received a message to say that the download was successful but when I open a Word document I cannot see any icon allowing me to access and start working with Wordfast.

Any help gratefully received.

Many thanks,
Sarah

Look under Add-Ins tab in the top toolbar Jul 29, 2009

If you open Word in Vista, you should see an Add-Ins tab in the top toolbar. Click on that and you should be able to see the Wordfast icon. Click on that and away you go...

Have you "installed" Wordfast? Jul 29, 2009

In order to use Wordfast you have to install in Microsoft Office (or Word if you have it as standalone).

When you downloaded Wordfast you received a file named 'Wordfast.dot'. Open this file in Words and follow the instructions.

I would recommend you to also download the manual (free of charge). It contains some very useful titbits and procedures besides all the more advanced programming.

Good Luck!

What version MS Word? Jul 29, 2009

If you still need help, let us know what version of MS Word you are using (2007?) and let us know exactly which steps you have already tried.

try this Jul 30, 2009

-open up a word doc
-on the top left-hand side click on the windows logo (the round thing next to "Home")
- that will open up a bunch of options "new/open/save etc." - look down at the bottom and there are 2 buttons - on says "word options" and the other "exit word"
- click on word options (my computer has it all in Italian so I'm not sure of the exact equivalent)
- click on additional components (7th one from the top)
- at the bottom it says something like "manag

Then you can add the wordfast.dot

It took me forever to find wordfast when I first got Vista
