My Proz profile doesn't mention past projects, however it has links to my web site.

I think a translator is accountable not only for keeping clients' content strictly out of reach, but also for not letting it out that such material actually exists. For instance, if I said that I translated ACME's bonus policy, this would made it known that ACME does have such a bonus and a policy, so their competitors (e.g. trying to poach ACME employees) would consider it worthwhile investing in industrial espionage to find more about it before making a job offer to any such 'prey'.
On the other hand, I want clients who thrive on selling things I've translated to be successful, so they'll ask me for more. A bit of extra advertising definitely won't hurt. ▲ Collapse

I do not link the client with the field for similar reasons that José mentioned. I provide a partial client list and the fields in which I have worked. That provides all the necessary information without invading my clients privacy.

My project history includes several translations since 2006.
I think it's an important showcase for translators. Detailed info about projects is available so people can read the fields and pairs related to them. This has been very useful to me in the past 5 years.

I cannot mention projects without breaching professional secrecy either.
I work for agencies, and several of them do send work for particular clients to the same translator as far as possible, so I do have end-clients that I work for regularly.
An agency will always find a backup translator if the regular does not have time for a particular job. I am not even sure in some cases whether I am the backup, or the regular translator.

Either way, apart from questions of confidentiality, mentioning specific jobs or clients would not necessarily lead anyone to my work. If I say I have worked for company X or government agency Y, you might just as easily find another translator´s work as mine. When documents are partially updated and translated with Trados, the translation is very probably a combination in any case.
There are two translations in my portfolio.
One is part of a checklist for business leases that is easy to find in Danish on the Internet. I do not know of any other translation into English, but it would not suprise me at all if they exist. I did actually translate the whole text for a client, but several of them use the Danish version. The other text is a letter to the Editor of Jyllands Posten. If you found the original letter in the newspaper archives, you would see it was written by someone with the same name as me. 
That is not absolute proof that I wrote it - my name is by no means unique! But the translation is mine.
