Bio:Thakur Amgai is a writer, translator and journalist from Nepal. He writes on a wide range of topics including ecology, nature, rural technology and development. He has been published in various national, international magazines including Newsweek Magazine. He worked for... Spotlight Newsmagazine, Nepalnews.com and BBC Media Action before beginning a fulltime consulting career. He has consulted for UN Agencies, US embassy in Kathmandu, Peace Corps Nepal, National Democratic Institute (USA), National Public Radio (USA), DFID (now UKAid), DANIDA, ICIMOD, International Organization for Migration, Search for Common Ground, Winrock International, Verite' (USA), International Centre for Transitional Justice, Safer World, Small Arms Survey (Geneva), Search for Common Ground and International Alert, among other governmental and non-governmental organizations in Nepal and abroad. He has also worked as communications trainer and language consultant in Nepal and India.
