I am translating a text in Trados 2021 and the client sent me a blank TMX.
I have created a new one, but it still remains empty. I did the update, but nothing changes.
I must have done something wrong. Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thanks
Miranda

When you say "TMX", do you mean an SDLTM file or do you mean a TMX file?

It is not unusual for clients to send me an empty TM (an SDLTM file) along with the files for translation, even if they do not require me to deliver the updated TM in the end. An empty SDLTM TM can be a couple a hundred kilobytes big.

AFAIK, Trados does not update TMX files. Trados can update TMs in its own format, SDLTM, and then you can export that to TMX, if you really want a TMX file.
