Please translate "hustle."

Full sentence: "This is not such a good place to hustle." The context is one panhandler talking to another on the streets of New York City. He is also carrying a cardboard sign telling of his hard luck life.

I don't speak Romanian but "cerşi" is the classic dictionary translation. Hustling, in the sense of panhandling, is just "begging" in standard formal English.
